May 2014 Empties & Quick Reviews

I may or may not have given some updates on certain products that I've promised to review since they are indeed a handful. However, these are some of the products I do have tried and tested to the point of emptying the whole product, some even repurchased. Armed with full honesty, here are my product empties for the month of May. Hope you guys could check it out!

From L-R: Fashion21 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15, Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil, Hortaleza Professional Hair Cuticle Coat, Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil, Vitress Hair Repair Cuticle Coat, Snoe Hair Heroes Intense Argan Leave On, Snoe Hair Heroes Texturizing Beach Waves, Eye Glo Moist Artificial Tears, Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Shine-Free Foundation, Ellefar Eyeliner Pencil and  G-Lish Lip Gloss

1.) Fashion21 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner - I think I'm on my 4th bottle of this now. I've been using this since the 2011 and it has never failed on me. It never budges even during my scuba classes. This is one of the toughest liquid eyeliner that I've ever tried. Plus, it is also very affordable. I must say, this is one of the very few products I could recommend to everyone. It never ever disappoints!

2.) Cetaphil Daily Facial Moisturizer with SPF 15 - I got this when Cetaphil invaded UP and gave away a few samples for us to try. One of which is this small tube of moisturizer. I use this a lot when my face is very flaky due to chemical peels. I like it. Glad I have a full sized version already.

3.) Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil - Ever since I finished my bottle of Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil I've been using this as its alternative. Check out my quick review about it here.

4.) Hortaleza Professional Hair Cuticle Coat - I bought this at HBC ages ago. It does the job of taming my frizz and adds a healthy shine while doing so. I think it's probably a cheaper alternative to Vitress.

5.) Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil - Initially, I bought this to lighten my dark circles. Since it didn't do the job despite using it religiously, it did remove the toughest eye makeup I had with ease. Others use this as moisturizer but I think I'm good using this as a eye makeup remover.

6.) Vitress Hair Repair Cuticle Coat - I got this from the coupon inside the 2013 BDJ Planner along with other items from Splash. I use this when I want softer curls for my hairstyle. I love cuticle coats because they tend to flatten my frizzes especially now since I don't rebond or straighten my hair anymore. My hair totally eats up all my hair products so I repurchased the Heat Protection variant last week.

7.) Snoe Hair Heroes Intense Argan Leave On - I love anything from the Hair Heroes line of Snoe. Particularly anything with Argan Oil. I love this, but I love their night treatment version of this a little more.

8.) Snoe Hair Heroes Texturizing Beach Waves -This is the first product I ever bought at Snoe. The scent smells very fresh. Believe me, everyone I know loves the scent. What I love about this product is you could use it when your hair is damp or dry. Very versatile and easy to apply. I'd totally repurchase this soon.

9.) Eye Glo Moist Artificial Tears - I wear contact lenses all the time so it really took a toll on my eyes. Since soft lenses are hydrophillic, it will suck the moisture from your eyes. I use this product when I have to prolong the wear of my contacts. It's really uncomfortable to wear contacts with dry eyes. Huhu

10.) Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Shine-Free Foundation (Refill) - I have the full sized version and I figured it would be cheaper to buy the refill when I hit pan. I use this all the time because I can't seem to find any foundation that's near my shade (I'm still confused if I'm a Honey or a Sand Beige). Plus, I think this is a cheap product that delivers well. I haven't tried it with water though.

11.) Ellefar Eyeliner Pencil - I bought these during the Banzai Sale at Saizen ages ago. I don't think these are great as eyeliners but I think they're awesome as eyebrow pencils. My friend ever commented how she loves the shade of brown on these. They're quite ashy and not at all reddish. However, I won't repurchase anytime soon because I bought another eyebrow pencil from Etude.

12.) G-Lish Lip Gloss - I can't believe I even finished a tube of lipgloss. Generally I hate lipgloss because I find them too sticky and they sometimes look too unnatural as if you ate a ton of greasy food. This one is an exception. I must make a separate review for this!

There you go! A quick rundown on some quality products I have tried till the last drop!
Hope you guys could check out my next batch of empties soon!

It's ending soon so guys better check it out! I hope you guys could all join!

20 Ways You Can Be The Best Friend Ever

Keeping old friends is quite a challenge compared to making new ones. I may not be the "perfect" best friend. But I'm proud to say that up to now, I still hang out with my highschool barkada. We made new friends along the way but we still maintained our friendship ever if we don't see each other as much as we used to. How do we do it?

Here are 20 ways you can be the best friend ever:

1.) Don't go MIA on us when you have a boyfriend or girlfriend.
I don't mind being the third wheel. But I don't like it when a friend shows up only when he or she has a quarrel with their significant other. Couples break up but friends will stay with you no matter what.

2.) Though shall not be a freeloader.
Some friendships are unconditional. However, we'd appreciate it more if you also treat us in return. It's a give and take situation. Some people may tolerate it, but personally I don't like being treated like an ATM even if I'm not well off.

3.) Learn to show up. Don't treat us as your proxy date.
If you're busy, we get it. We're all busy too. It's okay to cancel on us, but don't do that the last minute. Nothing is worse than waiting for you at a mall only to find out you've ditched us for another date. Not cool.

  4.) Stop the backstabbing.
Don't say things that you know would offend your best friend. Constructive criticism is nice but it's better if your friend heard it first hand from you.

5.) Learn to be a listener once in a while.
I'm actually guilty of this. You'll be surprised how your best friend will appreciate you more if you know more details about them than blabbing endlessly about yourself.

6.) Be yourself.
Real friends are the ones that you don't have to try hard just to impress. Be yourself. If the are real friends, they won't mind how much you like eating street foods or shopping at the thrift shop Who knows? They might even join you for those.

7.) Trust each other.
Don't spill their secrets. If you know it's something you're not supposed to share, don't divulge it to others.

8.) Learn to apologize.
Work things out. If it's your fault, apologize. Nobody choked by swallowing their pride.

9.) Be loyal.
Don't be two-faced. Like I said, friends trust each other.

10.) Stick up to your friend.
Defend your friend if someone is harassing them. Don't allow others to bully them. Best friends don't just let other people mess up with their friend.

11.) Spend time with each other.
The key here is time management. Don't let your busyness get in the way of your friendship. Do your grocery together. Do your errands together. Meet with them once in a while. Real friends make ways no matter how busy they are.

12.) Let your friend have other friends too.
I am guilty of this too. Don't isolate your friend. Let them have their own set of friends too. Sometimes I get jealous if they are busy spending their time with other friends. The best way to get over this is to befriend their friends so you could all hang out together.

13.) Treat your friend as an equal.
As I've mentioned earlier, treat them the way you want to be treated.

14.) Be supportive.
I am also guilty of this. I eventually learned that a friendly competition is nice. But it's better to be supportive of your friend. Don't put them down just to make yourself look better.

  15.) Learn to forgive.
Friends don't let the little things get in the way of their friendship. Love their flaws. Let go of your grudges and put everything in the past. Accept them for who they are. Nobody is perfect.

16.) Put down your phone.
I am also guilty of this because sometimes I just love surfing the net with my friends. This is wrong because it gets in the way of your bonding time. Just put it down, even if it's difficult to. Lol

17.) Hang out with their friends.
Remember the saying "Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are"? You'll know more about your friends by hanging out with their friends. It's also a fun way of expanding your social network.

18.) Try new activities with them.
You'll get tired of hanging out with each other if you do the same things all over again. Mix it up. Be spontaneous and have a little fun!

19.) Call them for no reason.
Again, be spontaneous! If you haven't seen them in a while, ask them how they're doing. Little gestures like that would make me happy already. It makes me feel good that someone is interested to talk to me. Just don't call me when I'm my batteries are running low. Hehe

20.) A real friend calls
Since technology is vastly improving everyday, there's no excuses anymore!

Inside The Apocalypse Project + Mind Museum Giveaway

Finally got to revisit The Mind Museum with a friend over the weekend to check out The Apocalypse Project. I always had the idea that most science museums aren't really constantly updated or well-maintained due to lack of budgets. And I was kinda expecting that the place would look pretty much the same as I've last visited it during the exhibit of Da Vinci - The Genius. But no, there were new additions to the the museum. More about this after the jump! Check it out!

X-MEN: Days of Future Past

Guess whaaaaat? X-Men Days of Future Past is showing this May! And I'm not missing out this time!
Here we'll get to see Wolverine sent to the past to prevent something disastrous that would happen for both humans and mutants. Sounds a little bit like Futurama but I absolutely can't wait to watch it! I've always been a fan of X-Men. Hell, I even watched all the seasons of X-Men Evolution when I was a little kid.

I've even heard that it's the 2nd most expensive film ever produced next to Avatar. And there are rumors that they aren't even thinking of scrimping on the next sequel. With that being said, I think most people will agree with me that you will get what you paid for.

Here's the film trailer and look how cool the special effects are! Totally 3d-worthy!

Other than the special effects, one thing I've also noticed is how SUPER HOT Mystique is here!
If I were gonna be a mutant, I'd want to be either Rogue or Mystique. Those chicks could really kick some ass! Not saying that the other mutant babes couldn't, I just found their skills very handy.

Imagine shape-shifting your way into awkward situations. Transformations that would even make a chameleon blush! Or how about absorbing people's skills and memories through contact? Just hold hands with your boyfriend and you'll find out his deep dark secrets. Lol

I think if I were to be a mutant, I'd be awkward but definitely be powerful.
I'd probably look something like this:

Even though I'm putting on my "fierce" face, I don't think I could carry the look. I'm not too "high-fashion" enough. The clothes were designed by Mary Murillo. Sometimes I think I look like a cassowary here. XD

How about you? If you were to be a mutant, who would you like to be?

Tokidoki x The Block Launch

I remembered years back when I used to watch ANTM cycle 5, I was always rooting for Jayla Rubinelli especially when she was in the final 4. Being the crazy fan that I am, I followed her on every social site possible. And I've noticed how cute her shirt and customized background theme on Myspace was. I've done a little research and found out about tokidoki.
And the rest is history...

Miss Philippines 2014 in a Beauty DIY with Mader Ricky

It was a fun-filled day as we beauty bloggers and Miss Philippines-Earth candidates got to learn how to achieve a stunning pageant make-up and quick hairstyling from the beauty expert himself, Mader Ricky!

These beautiful bloggers Sol, Sheena, Denise and Alice were there as well.

You might be wondering why teach these Miss Philippines-Earth some beauty DIY, right?
Contrary to popular belief, a day in the life of a beauty pageant contestant is not all glamour and fun. Believe it or not, these girls are always on-the-go hopping to the next venue to the next, packing suitcases, attending endless rehearsals with minimal rest and sleep. Always under the public eye, a beauty pageant candidate must always look her best even in case a professional makeup artist is not on hand to do their makeup.

Here's a quick rundown of some essential makeup tips and tricks we've learned from Mader Ricky to achieve that right look...

Sample Room Haul #5

Sample Room is a sampling site that banks on the power of free product sampling.
It is an online community that changes your beauty-shopping pattern; and an interactive community where your opinions matter and where all beauty lovers are valued.

Again, I love the concept of sampling things before I commit to purchasing a full-sized one because I really find it a waste of money when I buy things I really don't like.

Since I have roughly around 100 points with me, I got 3 different products for only P100. What a steal, right? Read more to know more about what I ordered for this month!
