Do you love makeovers? Yes? Guess what, I have great news for all of you! Hope you all could read more as I will spill the details about the upcoming event by HBC which I will share to you a little later in this post.
Last Thursday we were invited by
Ms. Kumiko Mae to a quaint diner at BGC named Stacy's to learn more about this #BeautifulChange by HBC. I love how cozy the ambiance of this place is, I wish I took more photos. Anyway, if you're wondering how to get to Stacy's, it's just behind The Mind Museum.
Along with me were a lot of Manila's fabulous beauty
bloggers where we got to talk about our experiences with our journey to
achieving a beautiful change and how it influenced our lives for the better. I thought the makeover day was that day so I didn't bother putting on any makeup. Don't judge me. Lol.
Before the program started, they offered us a very appetizing buffet that consists of spaghetti meatballs, potato chicken, spareribs, salad and my favorite of course, the fish fillet.
No meal is complete without the desserts! Whoever made this cupcake is really amazing!
I love how the icing resembles a delicate pink rose. :3
During the program, we got to understand the mission of HBC which is to
celebrate women empowerment by supporting their right to experience a
beautiful change. I know some of you are rolling their eyes and
wondering "How do even makeovers help women?" or "Women who are putting
on makeup are just subjecting themselves to be objectified blablablah". It's not. Some people just can't understand that some women like me, put on makeup not to appeal to the guys but make themselves feel more confident by looking great.
So please guys, do me a favor and stop telling me "I don't like girls who put on makeup" and "I think you look better without makeup on". I'm not doing this to impress you boys. I'm doing this to express myself.
Admit it, it takes a special skill to put on great makeup.
We also got to personally experience a wide variety of products from
HBC. I haven't tried the Body Recipe Line yet but I remembered my cousin
Kamille really swears by it. She told me her secret to getting a
lighter skintone was the Body Recipe Papaya Body Scrub and Lotion. I'm currently using the Calamansi Facial Wash and it didn't gave me a breakouts the moment. I like how it isn't too harsh on the face.
I haven't tried these but the concept of a slimming soap is quite interesting.
I've heard of L-Carnitine on drinks but I've never encountered putting it on the skin.
These products aren't so foreign to me because I've checked out
Rattus' blog reviews about San San from way way back and I was really convinced on trying out the eyeshadows because it was affordable and performs well.
The Hortaleza Hair Coloring Cream was also a familiar sight as it was considered a staple of by my friends. I've seen their manes and I've noticed that it's one of the best affordable haircolor that you could have. It performs really well that my friend sported her vibrant red locks for her cosplay. Such a shame I already had my hair dyed already, it would've saved me a fortune if I bought these instead!
During the program, we were also highly encouraged to share our transformation stories. We all know not all of us are "biologically blessed" like the others. Surprisingly, everyone had their own different issues regarding how they looked like before. Could you imagine Alice didn't have a flawless skin when she was in high school?
Everyone has their own story. Growing up, I was an ugly duckling. I remembered how I used to be a late bloomer and it wasn't until college that I started looking like a girl. Yes, a girl. I was a tomboy back then, I refused to have my messy hair combed and I cried during gradation because they were forcing me to wear makeup. It's funny how puberty will really changed you.
You guys might be wondering how I changed. I realized how people started treating me better and respecting me more when I look all polished and well-maintained. It must be the halo effect of psychology.. Whatever it is, I think it's a great change because it's not just about looking good but also feeling good as well. The sheer thought of treating your body well gives you a sense of confidence that cannot be easily replicated.
Glad I already bloomed.
Since I believe everyone has the right to feel beautiful. I'd like to share some of the things I've received from this really heavy box from HBC to my loyal readers. Stay tuned!
Of course, the journey of self-improvement doesn't end there. I believe with the forever changing world we live in, there are always new discoveries in technology that could change us for the better.
That is why I'm inviting all of you to save the date this week for the first ever National Makeover Day on June 12, 2014 from 10:00am onwards at Trinoma Mall Activity Center and all HBC outlets nationwide. It's something exciting to look forward to because they'll be offering FREE exclusive services such as Manicures, Diamond Peels, Hair Color Application and many more for a minimum purchase! Not only that, there will be also celebrity guests for your entertainment and experts that will share practical makeover tips and personality development talks! Say YES to a beautiful change!
Thanks for reading this post and I absolutely can't wait to see everyone's beautiful faces there!
Hope to see you all soon!
