Enhance Your Creative Skills: The Brillante Mendoza Workshop 3

Nowadays, almost everyone wants to be a famous vlogger or youtuber. Anyone could take a simple video using their smartphones and upload it online for everyone to see. But how do you create something worth watching? The key to a good film is the way you present your views and ideas through creative storytelling. If you have a good camera but people don't understand what you're trying to tell them, it's very likely that your viewers will feel disconnected with you.

If you're planning to take some workshops to improve your craft this summer, why not take up a film workshop from none other than one of the most celebrated directors in the Philippines; Brillante Mendoza. Brillante Mendoza is a very talented indie film director known for his award winning films like Serbis, Thy Womb, Kinatay and many more.

The Brillante Mendoza Film Workshop 3 (BMFW) will be a intensive training that will last for 7 days starting at March 28 to April 3, 2016 at Center Stage Productions 947 Busilak St. Barangka Drive, Mandaluyong City.

Lamudi Philippines Media Night

It's been a while that I went out ever since I had this ~mini-hiatus~ going around.
What better way to revive my dying social life than to go out and meet new people! Right?

Last Thursday night I got invited by Ms. Pia to attend Lamudi Philippines Media Night held at TGIFridays in Greenbelt 3. There I got to meet new and familiar faces from the media plus I enjoyed this platter of good food.
Seriously.. this juicy burger had me craving for more the next day!

Lamudi is a global property portal focusing exclusively on emerging markets that was launched in 2013. The fast-growing platform is currently available in 32 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America, with more than 900,000 real estate listings across its global network. The leading real estate marketplace offers sellers, buyers, landlords and renters a secure and easy-to-use platform to find or list properties online.

I got to know about Lamudi months back when me and my family are currently looking for house #2. It was not an easy task because some ads on the newspaper don't have any photos on them and sometimes some brokers aren't that too honest on what the real score is. With Lamudi, we could already limit which houses we should and shouldn't ocular since everything is already posted there.
Thus, saving us the effort and time!

After having our dinner, we moved to Greenbelt 3 Mycinema to watch the exclusive movie screening of Transporter Refueled. I haven't watched any of the Transporter franchise so I couldn't say much about the plot. Basically the story revolves around former special operations mercenary Frank Martin's new missions with prostitute Anna along with the "three musketeers" Gina, Maria and Qiao. That's it, no spoilers here!

I was seated next to the ever so bubby Jean Cyrene inside the cinema. Love her!

A movie night is never complete without popcorn and drinks!

General Manager of Myproperty.ph Henry Winter and Managing Director of Lamudi PH Jacqueline Van Den Ende presents us with the data shows that the Lamudi PH website is now the most visited real estate platform in the Philippines. Citing its own data and that from web analytics platform SimilarWeb, Lamudi reported that visits to its platform for the first six months of 2015 is 34 percent higher  than those recorded for the entire 2014. In addition, at 320,000 monthly visits, Lamudi’s site visits via desktop are now at least 28 percent higher than its nearest competitor.

2015 was also a year of milestones for Lamudi. In February, the company secured $18 million in funding to boost its operations in Asia and Latin America. In May, Lamudi acquired competitor MyProperty.ph to further cement its position as the Philippines’ number one property website.

A first in Philippine real estate, Lamudi Philippines is also harnessing its massive online and listings data to generate reports and other content for Filipino homebuyers and property investors. For example, Lamudi analyzes data from its listings and regularly publishes content on condo, house, and commercial property price data.

Thank you Lamudi PH for inviting us to be a part of this special event! Hoping for more wonderful milestones for the years to come!

X-MEN: Days of Future Past

Guess whaaaaat? X-Men Days of Future Past is showing this May! And I'm not missing out this time!
Here we'll get to see Wolverine sent to the past to prevent something disastrous that would happen for both humans and mutants. Sounds a little bit like Futurama but I absolutely can't wait to watch it! I've always been a fan of X-Men. Hell, I even watched all the seasons of X-Men Evolution when I was a little kid.

I've even heard that it's the 2nd most expensive film ever produced next to Avatar. And there are rumors that they aren't even thinking of scrimping on the next sequel. With that being said, I think most people will agree with me that you will get what you paid for.

Here's the film trailer and look how cool the special effects are! Totally 3d-worthy!

Other than the special effects, one thing I've also noticed is how SUPER HOT Mystique is here!
If I were gonna be a mutant, I'd want to be either Rogue or Mystique. Those chicks could really kick some ass! Not saying that the other mutant babes couldn't, I just found their skills very handy.

Imagine shape-shifting your way into awkward situations. Transformations that would even make a chameleon blush! Or how about absorbing people's skills and memories through contact? Just hold hands with your boyfriend and you'll find out his deep dark secrets. Lol

I think if I were to be a mutant, I'd be awkward but definitely be powerful.
I'd probably look something like this:

Even though I'm putting on my "fierce" face, I don't think I could carry the look. I'm not too "high-fashion" enough. The clothes were designed by Mary Murillo. Sometimes I think I look like a cassowary here. XD

How about you? If you were to be a mutant, who would you like to be?

There was also a booth where you could have your Instagram photos printed out as polaroid shots. Lol

All of us were also treated to a free snacks and beverage!

Inside the cinema, they got to announce the lucky winner of the giveaway. It's funny because I kept telling my friend that I'm gonna win, but all along the winner of the giveaway was just sitting next to me! Lol

Good thing was, no one left empty handed because they gave away lootbags for everyone!

Sad to say, the movie wasn't as "thrilling" as I expected.
Perhaps, the last movie I watched was Confessions during Eigai Sai so I didn't find the movie as exciting. Then again, maybe that's just me. I think I watched too much gorey movies lately.

However, if you're a big Justin Timberlake fan. Go ahead! This movie is for you!

Thank you Nuffnang Philippines and Globe for a truly entertaining and well-organized event!

Advance Movie Screening: "Bakit Di Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo?"

Last August 3, my close friends and I were lucky to get exclusive invites from Maxine to the advance movie screening of "Bakit Di Ka Crush Ng Crush Mo" at Shangri-La.

I was thrilled because I was planning to see that movie when I saw the trailers.
I already have Ramon Bautista's book ages ago so I was quite interested on how they plan to make it to mainstream cinema. Believe it or not, I liked the original book cover.

The ever so handsome Xian Lim was kind enough to show up for the movie.
He was sitting behind us the whole time along with a companion.
I couldn't help but to glance behind because he was so adorable.
At the end of the movie, he said some parting words and quickly left/
We were the only ones lucky enough to take a picture with him. Sigh.
I wish he stayed longer though.

This was also the first time I got interviewed about a film.
They've asked me if I enjoyed the film and what are my thoughts on Star Cinema's movies and such. Personally, I thought the movie was interesting since a lot of cliche movies are made of remakes of old movies. I think this is a breath of fresh air. Though I wish they took more risks with this film. If you're looking for a feel-good rom-com movie, this is it.  My friend on the other hand didn't like it so much because she thought the movie was "pilit" and focused on the loveteam and less on the book. Oh well, baby steps.

After the movie, we decided to catch up with each other at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf.

These guys are my really close High school friends and I haven't been hanging out with them since forever!
I hope I'd get to bond with them soon! :)

Liar Game Final Stage

Photobucket
**Warning: May contain spoilers**
Just finished watching Liar Game Final Stage last night (the movie was not shown in our country, boohoo). And I must say, I REALLY LOVE IT! It's really worth the wait!
Though I think some people could not say the same thing if they haven't watched season 1 & 2. I mean, they really should watch it first because they wouldn't enjoy it as much as I did!

At first, I just watched liar game because I find Matsuda Shota very very hot & Erika Toda very very cute. But eventually, I did fell inlove with the storyline & such.

Photobucket
Also, Kichise Michiko was mytotal girl crush in the series!

The OST of Liar Game Final Stage (Stay/Love or Lies by Capsule) was not like the other OSTs of Liar Game. It was very upbeat and playful to listen to. Can't stop playing it in my iTunes right now! Grrrr.

And like the ending of season 1. I'm quite frustrated.
Why?

Photobucket

Because there's no effing kissing scene or love scene!!! Grrrrr
Why oh why?!?!?!

I hope there's a "Liar Game Final Stage 2" to resolve this! jk
I'm still thinking whether i'd read the manga as well.
