Speak Out! Be Heard!

Hello guys! I'm not sure how much people this blog post would actually reach but here it goes...
As you all know I made a thesis research last semester on how to combat sexual harassment using visual communication. Again, I'm very thankful to everyone who participated and shared my online survey.

Now and more dedicated than ever, I'm planning to start an advocacy campaign that will empower people who have experienced sexual harassment / objectification to speak out and report their harassers. Do you want to set your inspiring story free? I need more people who are willing to join this video shoot and share their story. If you're interested, please do send me a message here or at kamilacinco(at)yahoo.com

On Sexual Harassment & Other Things

From my previous posts you all might have noticed I have been stressing out on my thesis.
I know it's wrong to talk about it my thesis as early as now because I wanted it to be a surprise to everyone but I'll give you all an idea.. It's about sexual harassment.

My thesis topic has always been close to my heart because it's an issue that I have experienced A LOT ever since I "bloomed". Regardless of what I wore, whether it be my ankle length school uniform or denim shorts... I'd still get cat calls. Growing up, it was something I never really understood.

I'm sure some of you might say "Cheer up, it's a compliment!" or "Ganyan kasi kapag maganda". Honestly, I don't think telling someone "Tara ganda, motel tayo!" nor touching someone without consent is a form of compliment. The same way appearing to look like you're "asking for it" justifies any person to engage in such behavior. I'd still like to believe think we're better than that.

The internet is a powerful tool for change and we're very lucky to grow up in a generation that information is very easy to access with just one click. Now here's where I'd like everyone to help me in my pursuit of creating an effective solution to address this social issue...If you have a minute or two to answer my survey questionnaire, I'd be really really grateful! Not only are you helping me in providing important data, but you are also helping me in my quest to fight sexual harassment that would be beneficial for the future generations to come. I'm counting on you!

And if by chance you've already answered this...
Thank you so much in taking part in this very important study!! I truly appreciate it!

Makeover: Notebook Edition!

Everyone knows i'm damn cheap. I'm not denying it. I am really cheap.
Poor me couldn't buy myself a Moleskine for the start of the semester so I got myself a small pocketsize Green Apple notebook so that it would easily fit my bag regardless if its an oversized bag or that tiny black handbag I always bring to school every single day.

Being the weird person that I am, i've decided to buy gift wrappers and clear covers to "decorate" my simple notebook.

Here are the results:

Non-existent sembreak!

Health Update:
I want a break. Ugh. My breathing sucks. I feel chest pains. Definitely tired.

In other news, just found out I have low-blood pressure.
Totally weird because I totally pig out on artery clogging food. Ugh.

GEO Contacts Update:
It totally arrived on time! Thank you Ms. Valerie! (http://pehbbie.multiply.com)
But I can't wear them as of now. One of them was defective. Very painful to wear.
See that one on the right. It's too deformed for my eye.
Can't even use these now. Totally useless.

Sorry gaiz, but you have to wait.. OTL

School Update:
Anyway, I have to go back to work.
I have to make one of these before Monday:

Errr. GOODLUCK.

Deep Thoughts.

I'm 19 and i'm feeling so weird right now. Worrying about unemployment when I am still in college and not yet even graduating.

There's a fine line between a "fresh graduate" and a "unemployed citizen". It scares me a lot, that it may be possible that one day, all the things I worked hard for as a kid would never even pay off.
I know i'm in an awesome university where people would literally beg on their knees to get in. But sometimes I feel that universities do not summarize how well a person performs but rather on their achievements in college. -___-;
