Rustan's Beauty Workshop with Clarins

Planning on whitening your skin, pronto? Worry not! I'm here to share with you some skincare tips I've learned from Clarins PH. Read more below because these are skincare tips are quite interesting!

So before heading to Nat Geo's Cosmos event last Friday, I got to attend a Clarins Beauty Workshop courtesy of Rustan's. Clarins, the number one luxury skin care brand in France, has entered a new era in whitening.

Before everything else, the guests are served with the finest french macaroons and exclusive tea blends from TWG TEA Salon and Boutique.

From L-R: Chocolate, Caramel, Lemon, Green Tea and Vanilla are among of the sweet French macaroon flavors that the TWG TEA has to offer. I personally love the green one. :)

For the tea, we were offered to choose between the Silver Moon Tea which is a fruity blend of Green Tea, Dried Strawberries and Madagascar Vanilla. Or the Happy Birthday Tea which is a blend of mild Black Tea, Sweet Red Berries and Vanilla.

The speaker for the workshop was Ms. Colleen De Guzman, the Training Manager of Clarins PH. The workshop was sweet and simple, just the way I like it. I love it how she manages to get to the main idea across without talking too long or being too dragging.. Let's face it, long boring lectures are not fun.

Here they unveiled their two new products from the White Plus Total Luminescent Line which is their Brightening Hydrating Emulsion w/ SPF 20 and Smoothing Brightening Night Cream.

Here's some of their products from the White Plus Total Luminescent Line along with the new ones.

 Here's the texture of the Clarins Brightening Hydrating Emulsion w/ SPF 20. It's a milky day emulsion that is specially formulated for Asian skin. It's very lightweight and easy to absorbed.

 And here's the Clarins Smoothing Brightening Night Cream, the texture is quite thicker and richer than the day regimen because the skin is more dehydrated at night. The cream is not as heavy as most of my night regimens which is a good thing.

During the beauty workshop. Here are a few things I've learned:
1.) Clarins is pronounced as Clarans. Lol
2.) Pat the product on the skin. Don't rub! Too much unnecessary rubbing on the skin causes premature wrinkles. Do apply skincare products with light pressing motions.
3.) Studies in Clarins Laboratories have discovered that the skin is like a mirror, made up of millions of "micro-mirrors", and that whitening the skin is more effective when the skin is well hydrated to reflect light.
4.) The skin has 3 layers which consists of the Skin surface layer, Epidermis and Dermis. All of which should be targeted with the right ingredients such as Hyaluronic Acid, Sandspurry Extract and Ginkgo Biloba Extract to fully whiten the skin.
5.) Skin is prone to shininess especially from 2-4pm because oil production is at 100%. It's best to use an oil-free product for your sunscreen during that time.
6.) Trans-Luminescent Complex in the Clarins White Plus Total Luminescent Line is not yet available in any other products at the moment.

Here's what everyone got to take home. A loot bag filled with samples of the White Plus Total Luminescent. Girls like me who got to answer tough questions about skincare got to take home additional samples as well!
