My Lips But Better: Lioele Bubi Bubi Tint Balm in #01 Tropical Raspberry Review

I don't know if some of you may already know this but I just moved to California last week. I'm still adjusting now as we speak. I didn't have much of a problem with the shift from GMT to PST. However, growing up in Manila the concept of having four seasons seemed so foreign to me. It was basically "summer" all year long so imagine my surprise (and total disappointment) when I figured some of my stuff won't "work" well in winter.

The sad part, I ended up giving away and throwing out kilos of things that I can't bring with me here. Detaching myself from material things was really difficult. However, the bright side is some of the things I brought might be of good use.

One of which that I did get to keep is the Lioele's hottest lip balm the Bubi Bubi Tint Balm - a lip balm and tint in one. According to its product description: It promises to heal dried and / or chapped lips and provide nourishment for a healthy, touchable feel. Its lip tinting effect provides the lips a natural and vibrant look - turning lips to a desirable color with just one application. Protecting your lips from winter cracks and summer dryness while adding some great color. Perfect for an anemic girl with chapped lips like mine!

COLOR

The Bubi Bubi Tint Balm comes in three different shades: #01 - Tropical Raspberry, #02 Exotic Pinklicious and #03 Indulge Coral. The one I have is #01 Tropical Raspberry, a shade that's more vibrant than the two other variants.

At a first glance, it's a bright hot pink that's cool toned. I initially thought it's a barbie pink shade that most morenas would have a hard time pulling off. Fortunately, it's a wearable shade that looks natural. Perfect for that ~au-naturel~ look!

PACKAGING

Based on my research, this is original packaging used until they've came out with a new one. Ironically, I find this one more appealing than the new packaging.. but that's just me.

The new packaging of Lioele Bubi Bubi Tint Balm in #01 Tropical Raspberry

The Bubi Bubi Tint Balm is housed in a box that looks much like the product itself. The tube feels a bit light and flimsy for my liking. But what I do like about this is it's sleek and convenient to use. Just twist and go. However, I don't know if I just had a bad stock or it doesn't retract well as it should.

FORMULA

The formula of the Lioele Bubi Bubi Tint Balm is great for daily wear since it is so lightweight and non-sticky. It glides on smoothly with a shiny finish that's not too glossy. And the pigmentation is quite sheer, normal for any tinted lip balms but it is buildable with 2-3 swipes. Surprisingly, enough to last you a day - the staying power of the tint is amazing!

SUMMARY

Pros:
- Non-drying and moisturizing
- Non-sticky formula
- Sheer BUT buildable
- Long-wearing tint

Cons:
- The tube doesn't retract as it should
- A bit pricier compared to other lip balms
- Doesn't smell like tropical raspberries. Lol

Will I repurchase?
No, just because of its price (P252 - approximately $5). It's a good quality product and I can recommend it to people. BUT, I feel like I can find another product that's more affordable and could do the same thing. However, If you're considering getting one too, I got mine online here: http://www.lazada.com.ph/lioele-bubi-bubi-tint-balm-35g-01-tropical-raspberry-14821730.html?mp=1
