Tree Planting

November 21, 2012

I was commissioned by Loose Leaf Teashop to make an awesome tree mural on their stairwell.
Painting on a huge canvas was tiring, especially for a very short person like me.

Nevertheless, it was a dream of mine. Growing up, i've been always scolded for making "artworks" on our walls. Now, i'm proud to say that I am getting paid to draw on walls. Yeah!

Here's what i've done:
Branches

Work in progress

The curse of being left-handed..

Anyway, i'm ending the post here. The tree is not yet finished due to my tiny tiny frame. Whatever.

Here's a picture of my food!

I was preparing octopus for my breakfast. Upon slicing them, i've noticed one of them was unusually bigger/heavier than the others. When i've sliced it open, I felt something hard.
To my surprise, there were tiny eyes looking back at me. OMG FISH!!
He probably had them for breakfast too. LOL

Nikita

Okaaaaay. I already knew this show already existed way way back but I didn't think I would love it this much! I've watched the Pilot episode this month and i'm totally hooked!

I love Nikita and it's just what tv needs, a hot independent lady in total control over herself. I love it!!!
I like that it's not about just about women empowerment but also about standing up to the big guy. And to think I hate watching action movies...

And for those Nikita fans out there, I have a great news! Nikita is renewed for season 3! Oh yeah!
It sucks though because I don't know what time ETC airs this so I keep myself awake and watch ETC from 12 in the morning till they air it.

I know. It sucks. Eyebags definitely sucks. But it's worth it! Go ahead! Watch it nao!!!1

MEG's TMTTB Tote Design Contest!

I don't know what's up with the month of April, but I definitely sense that my luck is really turning around!
I just found out about it through browsing who won the Etude Playhouse Contest through MEG Facebook page (unfortunately, my fellow multiply seller Krischia didn't win).

Backreading through older posts have I found out that
they've finally announced who won MEG's TMTTB Tote Design Contest.
I saw my last name (my heart skipped a beat) and I was correct! I did won! My design! It's there!!! :3

I must admit, the other contestants' designs were totally awesome as well and very very creative.
And the best part? Seeing my design/name at the first ever MEG Summer Party in Boracay!
Thanks again MEG for the wonderful opportunity! ^___^

SLEEPASIL giveaway!

I love SLEEPASIL! My mom suggested me to take some SLEEPASIL when she noticed I had difficulties with my bodyclock. At first I was a little bit skeptical and hesistant when I heard about it.

Hesitant because i'm not into sleeping pills. It's definitely not good for you. Skeptical because I thought it was just a placebo pill or something that works into tricking your body that you're sleepy or such.
But from what i've read SLEEPASIL contains a unique blend of ingredients (Melatonin, Chamomile, and Valerian Root). Based from research, melatonin is a hormone that regulates sleep. (Plus, i've already tried and tested it)

So earlier today, I got this awesome package from SLEEPASIL.

Here's a peek:

Tadaaaa!

Lucky right? All I had to do was to answer a survey from their Facebook page! :D
Again, i'm not paid to blog this. I'm just thankful I got a free supply of SLEEPASIL. Complete with a pillow and eyemask. This would definitely be useful this summer, because i'm confident that I could easily fix my totally messed up bodyclock when classes start. In just one pop!

I found this:

Of all the fonts. Comic Sans? Seriously? LOL

Anyway. With all the April Fools Day prank going on i'm hoping this one isn't one of them..

Lucky! I'm looking forward to getting those Sleepasil pills. Especially that its summer and my bodyclock is so wrong right now (my sleeping time: 6pm-12nn).

Get your dream guy in five easy steps!

Get your dream guy in five easy steps!

Oooh lala, it’s February again. That time of the year where you’ll wonder why you are still single. Here are five easy steps on how to make Mr. Right into your Prince Charming…

  • · Find a victim

Look at your left. Okay, now look to your right. Find someone you are attracted to physically and mentally. He must be someone you share common interests with.

  • · Be the ultimate dreamgirl

Feeling ugly? Don’t be. Here’s a beauty secret I’d like to share:
Get a mirror and look at yourself. Now tell yourself: “I am beautiful”. Do it every single day. The most beautiful thing a woman can put on her face is a smile.

Don’t be an airhead. Never stop learning and discovering new things.
Be smart, be witty and never be passive. Familiarity breeds contempt.

Being beautiful is about confidence. Be charismatic and be beautiful inside out. Put on that red lipstick not because he wants you to, put it on because it makes you feel good. Remember personality cannot be bought from a bottle.

  • · Be a diamond

Polish yourself. A carbon under pressure is a sparkling diamond. Act like a bitch but know how to handle yourself under pressure. Focus on your goals and career. Increase your net value. Be desirable, if you aren’t happy being single don’t expect to find happiness being with a guy. Remember, happiness comes from within. Love yourself.

  • · Don’t be an attention whore

Your victim must treat you with respect and value your presence. Your time is valuable don’t beg for attention make him ask for yours.

  • · Claim your reward

You reap what you sow. Act like your dream guy is already being delivered and you’ll be receiving him in no time. He’ll come, no need to rush and just take your time. For the meanwhile go out and do things you love. Be wonder woman!

Plant & Inspiration Board

Here's a picture of my plant after 1 month! :D
I'm really looking forward to seeing it grow more!
Photobucket

Vain pic for the day:
Photobucket

After reading a few chapters of The Secret, i've been contemplating on what to put on my inspiration board. To my surprise, I had taken this picture way way back before I even had my hands on that book. The following pic is just a photo taken from a page of Candy Mag. :D

Photobucket

Cool isn't it? What about you? Any inspiration board ideas?

Turn over a new leaf

My green thumb is baaack! I've got these seeds from Baguio City ranging
from P5 to P10 each. The two lovers cost me P5 each and that other one
on the right costs P10 each. Don't ask me the name of the one on the right
because I forgot. I think it starts with the letter G. If someone knows
what it is, don't hesitate to tell me!

Here are the pics after approximately one month:
Photobucket

Here are the two lovers:
Photobucket

And here's the plant whose name I do not know at all. LOL
Photobucket

I'm just annoyed that after I took these photos, some one scattered them in front of my house.
The soil... They were everywhere. I hope they're still gonna grow.

Speaking of leafy stuff. I've been commissioned to make a gift certificate and flyer for Looseleaf Teashop. If you guys haven't heard of it, you should visit it in front of UE Recto! I think the teashop is underrated and not well advertised. Seriously, their Taro and Wintermelon are to die for!

Anyway. Enough of that talk as I am starting to crave for one.
Here are my works!

Upclose..

The printer really sucks.

The flyer I made!

Not bad for a beginner right?

Beauty Hack: Fake Bangs

I forgot to post this waaay back. I bought these clip-on bangs online (but it is also sold in malls now). It's really great for people who don't have bangs but wanted to have one without sacrificing their hair!

Think: Instant bangs.

Here's a pic of Kim Kardashian with these on

Photobucket

How it works:

Actual Product:

Back (those clips will keep the bangs in place)

Wearing brown clip-on bangs:

Photobucket
Really looks like my real hair!

Photobucket
Very natural looking! :D

Wearing black clip-on bangs:

Photobucket

Pros:
These are great! They hold on to the hair very well. Again, I find this very convenient for those who don't have bangs or those with uncooperative bangs.

Cons:
However, for the Philippines' climate these things might make one feel uncomfortable because these things make me sweaty. Idk. Maybe it's just me.

Also, these things might look fake on people with damaged hair because it is shiny.
But with the right choice of accessories and matching hair color these are really great.

Impulsive girls, put down those scissors. Why not give them a try?

Blue Cheetah Nails!

It's that time of the year where they'll say animal prints are in.
I'm not a fan of clothings with animal prints so i've decided to design my nails instead.

Here's the result:
Photobucket

How to do it:
1.) Prepare a light base color for your nails. This one I used Chic Classic's Love Orchid in Glaze.
2.) Choose another color and add blobs to your nails. I used Caronia's Blue Chill in Frosted.
It doesn't have to be perfect. You won't need a dotting tool for this. But if you are having trouble with adding them i'd suggest you use chopsticks or toothpicks. In my case I just used the brush itself. Make sure it is thin enough so it would dry easily. Concentrate on a side and leave a blank space for the base to peep.
3.) Here's where the fun part begins. Outline the sides of the blobs. My tip is don't make it too perfect. It's best when you make the corners a little bit thicker on the other side. I used a nail pen for this but a nail art brush is also good.
4.) Lastly, protect your design by using a clear nail polish. Any brand would do.

Optional: Taking long to dry your nails? Try Bobbie's Quickdry!

I hope you enjoyed this post and have fun painting your nails!

MEG's visit to UP Diliman!

After my MS1 class with Jyasu we walked to Long Island to have our lunch.
While we were walking there we saw this huge tent and a bus. It was MEG promoting Tupperware Brands Color Collection. I've heard raves about their BB Cream w/Gluta so I browsed around.

I'm the one wearing that short grey dress...

MEG Magazine was giving away back issues & lanyards for people who liked their Facebook page.
Pretty cool right? I'm not maarte and I have this "girl-crush" on Lovi Poe so why not?

Muy caliente!

If you haven't seen MEG Magazine's FB page, you should really check it out.
It has useful articles from fashion advice to acads and everything in between.

Sensitive Eyes

I remembered way back, the first solution I used for my eyes was SeptoCare.
I reallized I was allergic to thimerasol (a preservative) and had a very sensitive pair of eyes.

I consulted my ophthalmologist in UP Infirmary and showed her this:

Photobucket

Nothing wrong right?
Okay, here's a disturbing closeup:

Photobucket

Look at that disturbing red ring!

She said I was allergic to contacts and shouldn't take contacts that are not sold in optical shops (GEO and EOS). But stubborn me wanted to keep on using her contacts. So I told my orgmates about my little problem and they told me to try using Opti-Free Replenish because it's good for sensitive eyes.

Photobucket

At first I was hesistant. Mainly because I am a cheapskate. Come on, are you gonna shell out P300+ for some solution? But after a few months of using this product I conclude that you really do get what you paid for (even though its really pricey).

And no, I'm not getting paid by Alcon just to say these things.
Lesson learned: NEVER SCRIMP ON YOUR EYES!
You only have one pair, don't mess them up!

Ribbon Ring!

I bought this months ago, i'm not really sure when exactly. Just a little mad that he broke it during our trip to Greenhills. Such a klutz! Shame, I really really like this cheap ring (less than P50) because I wore this ring the first time we've met. I don't know if he still remembers this..

Scammer alert! Trendykawaii! Bogus seller on the loose!

I just wanna give a heads up to my fellow online buyers/sellers out there. This girl, Jam Angelica Garcia from Tuguegarao is a scammer! I've been scammed last December 2010. I know, it's a long time ago, but I find it annoying that this girl is still scamming innocent people out there.

Photobucket

Here's her online shop: http://trendykawaii.multiply.com
Her blog: http://itsjamg.blogspot.com/
Her fb account: http://www.facebook.com/ItsJamG
I've heard she's scamming people in Facebook as well.

My tip to online shoppers out there, be careful with who you transact with.
My only mistake was giving her the benefit of the doubt that she's changed her wrong doings... Apparently I was wrong.

For those asking for proof that I was scammed by this cheapo: http://blingmehome.multiply.com/photos/album/15/Hall_of_Shame

Need I say more?
